Junior Economic Club of
New Zealand
Shaping and inspiring New Zealand’s Future leaders
The Junior Economic Club of New Zealand was founded in January 2025 by Chris Kumala and Joshua Wang, two students united by a shared passion for economics, finance, and the power of informed decision-making.
Established with the vision of empowering the next generation, our organisation is dedicated to making economics more accessible, engaging, and relevant to young people across New Zealand.
Our Story
Our mission is to foster economic literacy, broaden understanding of financial systems, and create opportunities for students to explore the complexities of global and local markets. By bridging the gap between young people and the financial world, we aim to inspire future leaders, innovators, and socially conscious economists. Beyond promoting economic education, our chapter places a strong emphasis on sustainability and ethical responsibility. We believe that economics should not only drive growth and prosperity but also support environmental stewardship and social equity.
Through this perspective, we encourage members to critically examine how economic principles can be applied to address pressing global challenges while ensuring long-term societal well-being. At the Junior Economic Club of New Zealand, we are committed to building a community where ambitious students can develop knowledge, leadership, and practical skills while shaping a more sustainable and economically responsible future.
